Vanessa Álvarez Castillo is a senior executive with over 20 years of experience leading transformation in complex, regulated, and mission-critical industries — including renewable energy, mining, infrastructure, mobility, and oil & gas. She has held global and regional leadership roles, most recently serving as Senior Vice President at Prysmian Group, where she led a €1.9B global business unit operating across more than 50 countries.
Her career has been defined by high-impact turnarounds, cross-border strategy execution, and the integration of commercial, technical, and cultural dimensions of leadership. She has successfully reversed declining P&Ls, driven post-merger operational integration, launched go-to-market strategies in emerging and mature markets, and built high-performance teams in volatile economic and geopolitical environments.
Vanessa currently combines her industrial experience with a growing focus on governance, long-term value creation, and decision architecture. She serves as Board Member and Chief Strategy Officer of the European Foundation Society and Education, and as Lead Advisor at Kompassium, a strategic advisory firm that supports decision-making and board-level transitions.
She has completed executive education at top institutions such as IESE Business School (“From Executive to Board Member”), SDA Bocconi School of Management (Advanced Leadership Program), and holds an Executive MBA from IESA (AMBA, AACSB, EFMD) as well as a bachelor’s in electrical engineering from Simón Bolívar University. She is currently completing the IC-A Certification in Good Corporate Governance (Spain).
