The Event
Enlit Europe 2024 was the premier event dedicated to sustainable energy, energy transition, and decarbonization. It was held in Milan from October 22nd to 24th, 2024 at Rho Fiera. The event convened over 15,000 energy professionals, including thought leaders, innovators, and disruptors, to exchange insights, trends, and opportunities in the energy sector.
The Booth
At Enlit Europe this year, we showcased our ecosystem of end-to-end solutions realized for all grid operators and our offering advanced technologies for the MV and LV network. Our portfolio includes distributed intelligent devices and software with a cloud-edge architecture, as well as an ecosystem of services, to help DSOs optimize their operations and offer a reliable service to their consumers.

vPAC - Virtual Protection Automation and Control
Our groundbreaking all-in-one-solution, the Quantum Edge® device (QEd), enables grid operators to run essential grid functions such as medium voltage automation directly on the edge and minimizes the equipment required for secondary substations. Our Quantum Edge® device is also backed-up by advanced software solutions that offer grid operators remote configuration features, enhanced automation capabilities and quicker responses times.

"Bidirectional flows modify the electrical behavior of the network, and if the DSO is able to drive this electrical behavior, it can increase the hosting capacity of the grid. To run algorithms to increase the hosting capacity, we work on the edge, directly in secondary substations. And to do this, we developed the Quantum Edge® device."

LV Grid Monitoring and Control
The smaller version of our iconic QEd is the best option for grid operators that need a seamless integrated solution for low-voltage management. This device continuosly monitors the status of LV feeders (gathering real-time measurement and status to be upstreamed to central sistems such as SCADA or ADMS) and MV/LV transformer (electrical and thermical overload). It can also be integrated with our company's Low Voltage Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (LV SCADA) platform.

At Enlit Europe, we showed how utilities can customize QEd by choosing from an ecosystem of applications that can increasingly expand the operational perimeter of the QEd itself and developed in collaboration with selected partners such as Sense Reply and Arcoda. The number of these applications is growing, and they can all be customized according to your specific needs.

Metering domain
MaaS - Metering as a Service
Together with our group company Aidon, we provide a comprehensive end-to-end metering platform encompassing hardware, software, and managed services on the basis of our client needs. We showcased a range of meters and accessories that are compatible with various communication technologies, such as PLC, RF and Cellular and a suite of services designed to support utilities in managing field operations, maintenance, and other tasks, allowing them to concentrate on their core business. Moreover, our cloud platform integrates all applications, including HES and MDMS, and workforce management services that can be integrated with any GIS.

Our company hosted two speaking sessions, and participated in a summit:
- On October 22nd, Paolo Bassani, Head of Smart Meter and Accessories, participated in a panel with a speech titled "Advanced LV Grid Monitoring and Control: Enhancing Efficiency in Modern Electrical Grids" about how our Metering and Grid Domain technologies merge within the Digital Technology - Knowledge Hub.
- On October 23rd, our CEO, Robert Denda, was among the main speakers of the summit session entitled "Evolving our Distribution Grid System". He highlighted the advantages of edge intelligence as a modern alternative to traditional technologies for grid digitalization in the dynamic energy landscape.
- On October 23rd, Francesco Marini, Director of QEd Program, held a panel at Grid Innovation Knowledge hub presenting our solution for Virtual Protection Automation and Control with a presentation entitled "vPAC: benefits of edge technology and field performance" within the Grid Innovation knowledge hub.
